Grind
I have one and Bob too I think. The problem is that the real RT gets clogged up with chalk which interfers with the spinning. The more clogged up it gets, the easier it will be. RTvG
I have one and Bob too I think. The problem is that the real RT gets clogged up with chalk which interfers with the spinning. The more clogged up it gets, the easier it will be. Yes, I have one too, the newer version, also a crusher and a very fat one from Watson's. I don't use much chalk on the RT, so no problems there. I did keep my RT in the garage though for some time, and then it tended to freeze up completely. Just because of humid air, temperature etc. Keeping it for a few days (sometimes weeks..) in the house again always solved that problem, making it spin as freely as when new again. The crusher and the Watson's dont freeze up. They are bombproof. My best on the RT was about 75kg in plates, on the crusher it's at least 10-15kg less. I hope one day to do a 90kg RT. A CTD cert is on my wish list. I feel that this training was very taxing on my hands and forearms.

Grind
Yes, but only 2-2.5mm! That's enough, hahaha. Got startled when I looked at the current EUR/GBP. The vulcan/wd2 and thumb screws will cost me a fortune at this moment. I decided to just order the vulcan and thumb screws the WD2 will come later when the euro is up again. Grind
Yes, I got one rated at 178... Guess it can always go worse! You got two elite's? I know you got a 168. But I'm going to change the mount depth in the future. I think now it's -1mm and I will set it to 2mm. Hope to get a rating between 160/170. Also for the BBGM I hope to get a rating close to 140. You can try to close this one when we meet. Edited June 27, 2015 by Grind
Grind
I see... 3x a week seems like a lot to me. You were right. I feel at this stage (beginner) it's to much for me. I'm getting the first signs of overtraining (elbow). To prevent an injury I will take a week rest from grip training. Maybe 1 or 2 times RT a week is enough for me to develop. I see... 3x a week seems like a lot to me. Once/week is my limit when I train like I do. Thickbar is very taxing on your grip and takes the longest to recover from of all the exercises, atleast for me and many others. You remind me so much of myself when I started train, full of enthusiasm and drive. You seem to train kinda like what I did when I started too. I might have done more in a session, more exercises and more volume, but you train more often. Took me like over two years before I calmed down and started training 2-3 exercises at a time, instead of everything at once, and took my rest instead of training when I should rest! That's when I got strong, bent the red nail in imps, closed coc3 and above and so on. Im with Geralt and Royz when they say that specialization on a couple of exercises lets you progress the fastest. I know what its like be stubborn and desire huge gains in all aspects of grip. Im convinced that it'll hold you back tho. Looking forward to seeing you progress mate! Keep the intensity up! *following*
Grind
It's hard to know the limits of a muscle group you haven't focust on before. The rest of my body I know like the back of my hand. With grip I'm very careful except after reading the Laine Snook cycle on the RT I thought I would give it a shot. It never felt to taxing for my arms but now I feel small pains around the elbow area. Normally I would ignore these pain with regular training but with grip I know I need to be more cautious. Thanks for support, this week I will do only gym training and very light gripper and expand bands training for blood circulation.
Geralt
Ok, indeed be careful with your elbows. Once they're irritated, you have gone to far already. I would also be careful doing pulling motions with full rom for the arms. Better deadlift for maintaining arm strength than doing bicepcurls and stuff. Pushing never bothered my arms when I was injured.

Pushing never bothered my arms when I was injured. Had some really bad days. My cat died of cancer a couple of days ago. He was very dear to me and I'm going to miss him a lot. It all went extremely fast, he was very strong and healthy a big cat with lots of muscles. In just 3 weeks he got a tumor of about 5cm inside his stomach. Did not eat and drink anymore and lost more 1,5kg bodyweight. We had to euthanize him to relieve his suffering. About the elbow. I had lots of rest the last days. The little pains in my right elbow are gone. In my left arm there was a lot of tension at the elbow. My wife gave me a forearm massage and the flexors were very sore. Today the pains at the left elbow is gone to. The muscles aren't that tense anymore and I think this relieves the tendons at the elbow. I also have some good news. After 4 years of pelvis problems I'm almost triggerpoint free in all the muscles around this area. Mobility felt good, just need to stretch this area a couple of times a day. #Kettlebell swings 12 x 20 16 x 20 16 x 20 20 x 20 #Squat 20 x 8 60 x 8 70 x 8 80 x 8 90 x 8 #leg curl 59 x 8 68 x 8 77 x 8 86 x 8 #Leg extension 100 x 8 120 x 8 130 x 8 140 x
Geralt
Sorry to hear that bro. We love are pets dearly and they leave an empty space. Being a good father for them also brings along those choices...but it is very hard. All the best man. I know how it feels, my dog also is diagnosed with cancer. It sucks. Great competition and Jitse Kramer just won at cost of Niels Gordijn. Very motivated to see these men in action. That's cool! Still on my wishlist, but I never know when it's going down. Plus it always seems to be in far away tiny villages. Did Jarno Hams compete or is he retired? How is your arm doing? Haven't been seeing much grippstuff from you lately? Still painfull? I've had a lot of tendonitis the last couple of years and what helped me the best is triggerpoint massage. I use an armaid for this. Without something like that it's very hard to put enough pressure on the painfull points. It is however unfortunately a fairly expensive tool.
