Hubgeezer
I just received an email for the Odd Haugen Classic at January's upcoming Fit Expo. It has $12,000 in total prize money, which by my math, is spread $7,000 for the Strongman Contest, $3,000 for the Grip Contest (Visegrip Viking) and $2,000 for MAS Wrestling. It looks to be complicated, but I suspect there will be some top performances by some top athletes the way the thing is structured. Hubgeezer
It looks to be complicated, but I suspect there will be some top performances by some top athletes the way the thing is structured. Here is the link: http://www.oddehaugen.com/2016-odd-haugen-strength-classic-challenge/ When I read this thing carefully, I think I see that in order to win the overall strongman, you realistically would have to compete in at least two grip events. And, let's say Mike Burke entered. If he were to win three grip events at $500 a pop, plus the overall strongman at $3,000, that would be $$4,500. It looks to me that to win any prize money in the Strongman, they would probably have to participate in some grip events. I give Odd points for a very creatively structured contest...
Hubgeezer
IronMind News today: http://www.ironmind.com/news/2016-Rolling-Thunder-World-Championships-Announced/ Let's see: Mike Burke, Laine Snook, Alexey, all gathered in a grip contest, shooting for pots of money, combined with the Rolling Thunder World Championship Contest mixed in the middle of it... Sounds like a good contest! I don't think I'll be "entering" that one.
bencrush
Very strong lineup! Guess it's time for Laine to break the RT world record.
