This one takes a little explaining. As we got started with the V-bar the bottom ring broke off the v-bar. To keep things moving we subsituted in the little big horn.

Great job guys. Thanks for coming out and good luck training for King Kong.

Yes. I'm sure somewere either in Darrin's high rep pulls or heavy 2 handed V-bar work, it developed a stress fracture that was growing and just had enough that day. I can't say I'm supprised when I played with the math I found dropping 400 on the bar the loads started getting a little crazy. oh well it can be fixed with a lot more welds.

A couple months ago he snaped the ring off a Iron Mind loading pin too. :blink

All things considered it was a good lession in making sure to have backups just in case the 1 in a million chance happens.

Yes, and the funny part only about 45# when he was training the hub. I don't remember exactly but he's going to have to verify but before it broke he was doing 1 handed staped deadlifts in the order of 500+ I think.

Thanks Andrew for hosting such a great comp. I had a lot of fun and learned quite a lot once again. It was good to see everyone and a pleasure to compete with them.

Thanks to Darrin for the advice on the events, I appreciate it.

Congrats to Jeff on the win.

And yeah I'm excited to start training for the King Kong! Gotta concentrate on my thick bar...it seems to be holding me back a bit.

Andrew, were the IM hub and Little Big Horn both the newer versions?

And congrats, guys, on some impressive lifts!

Thanks again for hosting. Really nice setup you've got! So many toys! I picked up some good training tips for King Kong prep. Hope I can make the necessary improvements!

Eric, Yes the hub and Little Big horn are the newer versions. I wish it was the old horn I can get close to 200 on that thing.

Personal highlight at the BBQ for me.

Seeing Adam pulling 755 on the dinnie stone trainers, as well as clean and pressing my 53kg inch trainer. :rock

Bacon cupcakes. Need I say more.

Everyone pulled the pair of Inch dumbbells with straps. Kong was pulling just shy of bodyweight in each hand. Nice

Having more than 50 rated gripper to play with.

Everyone was cool when the V-bar broke. Thanks guys.

Frank killing a grade 8 after the contest.

Chris going event for event with me right up to the horn.

Can't wait for the next event.

A very big thanks again Eric!

Quick question: when I looked at the NAGS site I didn't see any of the No Set gripper closes on the list. Small oversight or are they not supposed to be there? Just curious.

Thanks again for putting on a fun event Andrew. Good to see everyone now that I am starting to remember people....and I like it when it is a close contest. I was glad I could make it. Seeing as we were going toe to toe I was hoping to pull ahead on the v-bar, it was feeing real good. Still the way it worked out I am glad I got to see where I am at on the horn. Also glad to have spent sometime with the inch dumbbells, I wasn't gonna try the hold but glad I did, surprised myself.

Thanks!

No-set grippers simply aren't a NAGS event. Perhaps the variance in gripper widths account for this. Oh wait, as I'm typing this I just realized you may have meant the no-set gripper results from the contest aren't included on any of the existing NAGS lists...

Andrew just corrected me on this point. Sorry about that. I'll update the list.
