Event no 3 will probably not be a true grip tester, but more a test of overall lifting ability I guess. On a thin non revolving handle, really strong hands can hold more than 300kg as it was lifted in previous contests with David Horne's one hand lift handle.

I disagree, people were able to lift 300kg+ on the one hand lift, because you could brace your hand against your leg.

Look at the results, Marco has a tremendous support grip and he pulled 222,5kg.

That's about as much as David Hurzeler pulled at the fist Euro Champs back in the day on the one hand lift.

And that was at a time when David was well below 80kg and without much lifting experience.

Honk, where is your disagreement? I don't get it... If you look at the results, the strongest deadlifter (who of course also has great grip strength) of the competition Andreas Brixa won the lift, not Marco as a grip specialist.

He won that event by a small margin, that doesn't make a point imho.

You don't have to be that strong to do a one armed partial with 230kg.

And deadlifting certainly isn't the only way to get a strong support grip.

Most gripsters just don't put an emphasis on support grip.

Edit:

Take David Hurzeler again:

Maybe one of the few grip guys who trained support exclusively for grip.

This is only form memory but I believe he got a 300kg one hand lift before he was able to pull 240kg.

Oh, I disagree, that the one armed farmer is foremost a test of fullbody strength.
