Jedd Johnson
I shall be more clear on this post and highlight the unanswered questions... Do you have some kind of system in place to allow for that? - My answer would be this forum, email, etc. You do a pretty good job of asking questions, Nate. is the process for used to determine the events for NAGS? Andrew runs the comp. He decides the events. He ran this year's events by many of us in NAGS to get an idea of how to make the comp run quicker. Is input from the general grip pop ever sought after or encouraged? Yes, of course it is. It always is. However, that doesn't mean just because someone gives feedback an event is going to be changed or something along those lines. Here's the thing. A LOYT of people over the years give their opinion. A very small percentage of those people ever go much beyond that. People get into grip and like it and continue...or don't. Of those who do continue...they either want to "just train grip", "train and compete" or "train, compete, and get involved in the process." Right now I'm certainly in option two...but I'm curious enough about the 3rd option to start asking questions. By getting answers, I may end up deciding I don't want to invest the time needed...or I may choose to go for it. Believe me...I truly believe that Grip is in it's infancy...but it will evolve and grow... or stagnate depending on the choices made today. There is definitely a time commitment involved. I think this is something that a lot of people do not think about. I don't think some people realize how much time all of this stuff takes to make happen.

Jeff Parker
I may not like every event chosen at a contest, but until there are membership dues paid to an organization made up of committee members, the events are, and should be chosen by whoever puts the time in to host the event. I have been on the board for over 10 years now and have seen so many guys come in, get fired up and want to do everything and then bam they are never heard from again. Why have an online discussion about what the events should be when half the guys participating in it probably won't even be here next year. There's no money to be made in hosting a grip event and with all the time and equipment I am sure some promotors even lose money. I have competed in a dozen contests and I'd like to say thanks to everyone that worked hard to put them together.

Mike Sharkey
there are membership dues paid to an organization made up of committee members That's a great idea! How can we set that up? I don't see any reason that people interested in a sport, or being part of a community organization should be exempt from the financial and time commitments that are required to run said community. I will say that it is up to the leaders of that community to set the standards and also to involve people; they are resources that need to be employed properly. For instance, in the thread about the GB Cert Lists many people, including myself, volunteered happily to contribute. As more young people, like Josh who just posted before be, become interested in the sport, it is absolutely essential to involve them and give them opportunity to contribute. Otherwise you will simply have a stagnant situation, and that's not good for anyone. Perhaps people just don't know where they are needed and useful, or can fit in.
