First off, it was COLD in the garage tonight! When I got the heaters going, it was about 10 deg. I was able to get it up to 30 before I started. I had on three sweaters, which made it tough to get set-up properly on bench. My sets of 275 and 315 felt unsteady because of this. I ended up doing the best I could in the conditions. I got in my first reverse-band presses in over a year. These are fun to do, with overloaded weight. I'd love to get more of these in (including heavier Sling Shot presses), but it's challenging sometimes when training solo.

Today was an all-around good workout. I missed my attempt at 255 on the axle, mainly due to my hands being shot from deadifting yesterday. I knew it'd be tough, but I gave an attempt anyway. My gripper warmups felt so solid, I decided to go for my easier #2.5, and got a solid close.

The axle benches felt great today! 300 felt really solid ... almost attempted another rep, but wanted to save something for everything else I had planned. I tried swings with the IM Pinchblock (per Jon's suggestion) ... these were a cool exercise and definitely a challenge!

I normally don't squat in my suit (haven't had one on in over a year, I think). Basically, I hate squatting in a suit, as it throws my form off and makes my head feel like it's going to pop. Even though all of my gear is loose, it still stinks. Today's session went OK, but I much prefer to be in briefs ... loose or tight.

Is the 385 double bodyweight? How did it feel pressing that?

Josh - Yes, it's double bodyweight. I'm at about 193 now. Suprisingly, the 385 felt better than the 365. My garage is so cold, that most of my best sets are toward the end of my sessions, when the temp has a chance to get up a little. (When I started benching, it was 28 deg. ... closer to 35 toward the end.) I've thought about doing more warmup stuff in the cold, but most days, if I'm lucky, I have an hour to lift.

I got my new rated GHP5 and was able to get 4 reps on it. Previous best with the unrated GHP5 was 3 reps. I made an attempt at 60lbs. on the IM Pinchblock, and got a hover. A few seconds afterward, I tried 57.5 and hit a PR on it!

I tried a 4" piece of steel today for the first time (cut Yellow). I used single IMPs, which made it really painful on the sweep/crush. I haven't done much short stuff, so my technique with it was probably pretty bad. I hit a rep PR on the GHP5 (5 reps). I think my unrated GHP5 is closer to 115, so I will begin trying to hit 5 reps with that. When I can get 5 reps, I will start to hit my lower-rated 2.5, and follow the same routine (5 rep goal).

Bench felt pretty good today. I finally got that 3rd rep with 315, which had been eluding me for a few months. Bodyweight was about 193 today. I could have gone heavier on reverse-band presses, but was starting to have trouble getting the bar over the pegs by myself, without loosing my tightness.

I tried 60lbs. again on the IM Pinchblock, got it up a few inches, then had it slip free. Immediately after, I tried it again and got a solid PR lift with it. I'm going to stay with this thing, with 70lbs. being the ultimate goal. I missed my last attempt with the Hub, but my fingers were hurting, and I didn't feel like messing around with it anymore today. Grippers didn't feel to great today. I was going to try to hit my GHP5 for reps, but decided to go for one close with the 2.5 instead.

The 19/64 bar felt brutal on the hit (with IMPs). I bought a bunch of unrated stock and cut them up. I got it to about 15 degrees, and ended up rewrapping it up in BBWs annd taking it past 40. The Euro always seems to be hit-or-miss with me. I might get one solid rep with a weight, and then try the same or slightly above weight and have it slip, or it not feel right at all. I was able to get 75 to break the ground, but tried right after, and couldn't move it. Zero movement with the last rep on the Pinchblock. 57.5 was solid ... couldn't budge 62.5.
