Plastic deck took a while because decks vary in strength as well. Some of the used Casino cards dollar tree, are stronger than I thought. Mavericks at Wal-mart I think is a good beginner deck. I know my brother or people get a kick out of a mess load of torn pieces I carry to the garbage can after a session. One comment I got, "what animal did this" Being neat wasn't my first thought , over time the tears will be cleaner as you get stronger.
