2016 King Kong - Pennsylvania Location

Jedd Johnson

Recommended Posts

I will be holding a venue for the 2016 King Kong of Grip.

Currently, I'm planning to hold it at my Garage Gym.  However, if the numbers get about 5 or 6, I'm considering asking if I can use a different gym in the area.

If you plan to attend, please let me know.

We may also be doing some extra events, and if anyone is interested in trying the Crushed to Dust challenge, I'm game for holding it, but we need to let IronMind know ahead of time, so don't wait too long.

Any requests for additional events to be held?

  • 1 month later...

I got a call from Paul Knight that he will indeed be attending King Kong here at my house.  Also heard from Jerry and his son that they are both IN, as well.

So, based on my memory, we've got the following.

Jedd Johnson
Mike Rinderle
Paul Knight
John Stepien
Chris Andrade
"Double A"
Amber Edwards
Don Smitley
Pete Hustek
James Fuller
Jerry Szigethy
Skuyler Szigethy
Peter Nickless
Frank Snyder
Ryan Thomas
Rick Rehfeldt

Anyone I'm missing?

Last I heard, Luke had something come up the day of, so he won't be attending.

Need to add a gripper event since that crush legend is coming.

I should have about 10 people competing in Ottawa. If the 14 venues around the world average just over 7 competitors each, there will be over 100 entries!

We'll have food afterwards.  Bring food to eat and drinks for during the comp.

Really excited for this comp. Got a very strong local dude coming in for his first contest, and a couple good strong dudes from the Syracuse area are coming down.  We met them at the Syracuse comp we held.  Can't wait to see how they do on these established events.  Hopefully they have a great time and can spread the word in their areas, and future Syracuse comps can keep growing.

Good luck to everybody tomorrow!

Jedd,

Skuyler here (Jerry's son). Have the weigh-ins been moved up? We had planned to get there around 9:30. Anyway we can jump in for a weigh-in then or we really need to be there at 8:00?

Thanks,

Thanks,

The standard weigh-in period to "make weight" is two hours before the start of the comp.  So the weigh-in period is 8am to 10am.  You can weigh in at any time within that space.
