Rick Browne
The Gripanator has a nominal 4-to-1 leverage arm. The 10 inch load pin on the leverage arm will hold 9 one inch thick dimes very solid. I think the leverage arm itself weighs 20 lbs as well. Cannon
I was able to borrow Tommy Heslep's Gripinator for a while. Honestly the thing I remember the most is that I just didn't like how it felt. For the same kind of heavy negative, I like the Secret Weapon a lot more.
rico300zx
Those welds are what I'd consider bad (looks like they were a bit hot to me) and it's thin wall stock. The concept is neat though. I'll show you bad welds Mine are drippy and FUGLY. Sooo pretty! Looks good but it should be welded on the inside.
Old Dax
Looking at the mechanics of the device it strikes me that the close would get (slightly) easier as the gip closes as opposed to TSG which get harder at the close. This of course is only theory, it is likely that the reduction is not noticeable, though I'm sure it feels different to TSGs (not talking the geometry of the two grippers here, just the force required to close).
