I'm all for such a rule, but discus away. :)

I cant comment based on experience as i cant pinch anything even remotely impressive but, i can imagine pinching close to or more than you weigh in losse plates has some leverage difficulties and brushing the legs is somewhat inevitable. My inexperienced 2cents

No leg contact righty and barely any lefty:

I mean leg contact only helps with the hold at the top anyways.

You would have to get pretty imaginative to get a hitch effect going, imho.

Part of this relates to body weight - Bob has to "lean into" the weight to counterbalance it as the total is over his BW - Juha on the other hand has enough mass that this is unnecessary.

Brushing against the legs can only be a disadvantage as far as I can see. Now if somebody was standing on one foot and using the other leg to assist the lift through some perverse interpretation of the fact that this is not enforced, that would be a different thing, and quite obvious in a comp or video.
