300 Lbs @ 6" Heslep Bend In Dhwog Wraps Touching

13 posts in this topic

CAUTION!! HOME VIDEO!! :blush

My first serious try of this style. Feels like to be very tough and useful for developing wrist strength.

Two CRS spikes 6" x 5 mm at around 150# each, wrapped in DHWOG pads touching in the middle.

My advice - properly warm up your wrist and brachioradialis. Do hammer or overhand curls and couple of sets of pullups, again with narrow overhand grip. Otherwise you can seriously damage the place where brachioradialis is attached to upper arm.

Now I need to find and give a try to original IM blue nail.

David and Mike!! huge thanks for taking time to watch this.
I think versatility of wrist bending styles will eventually lead me to some big reverse.

Just tried a Yellow Nail with IMP's. Not even a wobble. This style is crazy hard. I don't know how you are getting that kind of leverage :whacked

Mike yellow is a hard bar for this style, blue and yellow are same, just the length differs.
And a blue nail in Heslep is sort of a benchmark. I can think of Gazza, Tommy H, JT and this dude who did it.

Dang never seen this before I had to give it a try despite not touching steel in months or even training for that matter.

Been really busy with work + school but I did this with a 60d galvanized nail I had lying around, don't have much money to try anything harder.

Ivan, you my friend are a beast! That bend is super difficult. The seated position really takes away from the power you can generate. The hands together minimizes the leverage making it super difficult. Well done, this is a great bend!!

Not to hijack but here is a video of mine of what I call the "minimal leverage" style. It's of a 60d and a 6"x 1/4" grade 5 bolt in BBW. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbxr9p11ykU

Congrats again Ivan on a huge bend. Your bending is very motivating to watch! Keep it up.

Hah your reverse bending is greater then mine but I have a few weeks left of busy schedule then I will have some extra time and money to catch up. :)

^ Also very strong bend sean I think the minimal leverage techniques can be great to build up the wrist strength.
