My top-set of 485 felt pretty good.  (My raw max is probably right around 500, so having 485 feel decent and move semi-fast was nice.)  If I can pull 505-510 in the meet coming up, I will be very happy.

I started feeling some pain in my knee after the first dead squat.  Did the second rep (stupid) and it got worse.  I'm going to keep a loose knee sleeve on for the next day.

I've bent a lot of bars at-or-above 400lbs. DU in single wraps, but it's been awhile.  Today's bend felt good, which got me thinking about that 440lb. bar again.  A few years ago, when I was hitting Reds and Bastards DU, I tried a 440 bar in singles (BBW) and got to around 25-30 deg., but never a full bend.  I think, after the meet next month, I am going to try to take that bar down.  This would give me a decent challenge and something to raise my game.  The great thing about DU is it doesn't seem to bother my shoulder at all, so I can (hopefully) go all-out.

The 140 I missed on axle curls was less than a minute after the previous set ... just wasn't ready for it.  The next set of 135 felt pretty decent (close to a max).

The miss on the #3 wasn't really that close today ... probably 3-5 millimeters.  I tried my 133 280N right after it, thinking I'd end on a positive, with a decent gripper, but I ended up missing that too.  I didn't feel great during my early closes, but was hoping to overcome it.

I had some rare extra time today, so ended up adding a second session.  Overall, everything felt pretty good.  Squats have been OK, but not strong.  Training with no wraps or sleeves (periodically) has been tough and starting to wear on my knees, at least preventing me from going much heavier.  After this meet, I am going to get back to squatting raw w/wraps and in single-ply briefs more.

I made an attempt at a 420 bar DU (single BBWs) ... got it to about 20 degrees--maybe a little less.  My first hit was weak, which ended up killing my attempt.  I hit it a few more times but couldn't finish it off.  I ended up wrapping a Grade 8 right after and destroyed it.

Both #3 attempts were close (under 1-2mms).  The first one was right there, maybe .5 millimeters from closed ... hard-to-tell from video.  Anyway, grippers felt a ton stronger today than the last session.  Bench, on-the-other hand, was weak.  305 felt slow-and-heavy.  Instead of risking more strain on my shoulder, I stopped there.

Another rough Red bend today.  After reading some stuff in some other posts about similar experiences with the newer Reds, I guess I'm not going crazy.  On a good day, a Red in single IMPs takes me about 10-15 seconds.  These past few Reds I've bent have been taking closer to a minute.  When I put one of the newer ones next to some older Reds, the vertex is not rounded on the newer ones ... showing a pretty stark difference between the two.

I used to do a lot of curls and got up to some decent poundage, but got away from them for a few years.  Now that I've been hitting barbell curls for a few months, the strength seems to be coming back with them.

Just clicked the handles on the #3 but the video wasn't good enough for a submission.  The 133lb. attempt right before it felt as easy as it ever has.  I tried some light (30lb.) dumbbell presses and still felt pain.  But after some partial reps, I was able to get in a few high-rep sets without too much shoulder pain.  I am think I am going to have to get this checked out by the end-of-the-year, as it's been several months and doesn't seem to be improving much, even after time-off.  (Already getting my ankle/achilles checked-out this week.)

Took my last squat/DL and bench sessions before the meet next week.  Everything felt OK, but (too) heavy.  The standing axle presses were manageable, but I could tell any heavier, would have started to cause shoulder pain.

I bent another one of the "hard" Reds today, and ended up videoing it.  Seems like that was just enough to give me a little extra kick and it ended up falling pretty quick, unlike the past few.  The first #3 attempt was close (1mm).
