2013 Gripmas Carol

If anyone is interested in a half 95lb block weight ill be bringing it to the comp... Trades welcome too... Perhaps fbbc 2" vbar, IM loading pin, or little big horn.. Would throw in a little cash too for the LBH... Just a heads up! :)

Just a reminder - I will have a bunch of stuff for sale (or trade) so bring anything you want to sell or trade and we'll have a swap meet kind of thing too.

If anyone who is coming to Gripmas needs a Blob (have a few different weights, including 50#), a nicely matched set of 3x25 milled Yorks for pinching or a PDA Gripinator, PM me. I don't want to have to ask James to bring stuff in his car (which will already be pretty full of guys who are bigger than me) if I might have to bring it back.

Andrew has the spreed sheet on his laptop - I'll post it after he sends it to me. Results for top 3 overall

Kody Burns

Andrew Durniant

Jedd Johnson

A few World Records set and lots of close tries on other records

I do not have all the prize sheets for the prizes from Cannon Power Works - if you won one of those - drop me a PM with your address and what you won and I'll get it sent out when his package arrives.

Someone left a striped folding chair?

I'm missing one blue mini band - if you find it please send it back to me - I remember someone warming up with it but can't remember who it was???.

I'll post anything else I find when I clean up the garage better tomorrow.

What a great time and what wonderful people! Thanks to everyone who helped out - it seemed like I didn't have to do anything. :)

Some highlights...

Lucas Raymond lifted the blob and broke two 45s off the ground +/-6 inches. In an extra attempt, he pulled 95lbs in the 1hp.

Kody Burns upped his 1 hp record with each hand. Not sure of specifics.

Robert Miller swooped in and set a new overall world record in the Sledge Choke

Bob Sundin set weight class records in the pinch, axle, and possibly the choke. ANIMAL!

Andrew Durniat DESTROYED the 1Hand Axle lift with 250lbs! SICKNESS!!

I was able to get a hand to hand mid air transfer of two 45's. PUMPED. Set new Pr's in the pinch and axle.

So many highlights I could keep going all night long. Awesome contest. Everyone came to throw down and that is what they did. Thanks Chris Rice and Teresa Rice for the amazing hospitality and for welcoming is into their homes. Always a pleasure.

Thanks Chris, Teresa, Doc, and everyone else who made Gripmas a great contest. Definitely found some weaknesses in my grip that I need to get up to speed. After nationals I fixed my pinch game with a lot of help from Kody... Got some solid #s 101.25 right.. And PR 93.8 left. Also got too solid lockouts with a legit Blob after the contest for the first time. Axle kicked my ass though - but not next time. Definitely got do more with the hammers too. Overall had a great time, great meeting a lot of new faces. Amazing strength by all!

I had a great time at my first grip competition! It was awesome to get a chance to see some unbelievable lifts and talk to many about techniques and strategies. This will no doubt help me as I continue to figure out some of the lifts. Great job to everyone who competed!

Very impressive performances!

These results lead me to believe that the competition level at the 2014 North American Grip Sport Championships will be insane!

I want to point out that the only reason Mr Durniat beat me in this comp is that he outweighed me.

Yes, you read that right. I weighed 229.8 and Andrew was 230 something.

Just kidding. Andrew and Kody are both machines. It was awesome watching them mow down numbers all day long, as well as many of the other guys.

Also want to point out that there was a small oversight on the Choke. Mr. Robert Miller is the sole 25-inch Choke Master. I failed twice to get it off the ground.

Now, here are some videos from the comp. I didn't have the results when I did the first few, so the numbers aren't in there, and I am sorry to say I might not have the time to go back and add them all in, so this is mostly for the people who did the lifting and want to see their technique to analyze against others, as opposed to showcasing what everyone lifted.
