Exercises For The Hand's Scissor Action?

Does anyone have any simple and effective exercises for spreading/closing the fingers? I have tried using my fingers as scissors on plasticine and stuff but it's too difficult and time-consuming to do all the fingers and it doesn't address the opening aspect.

Does anyone work this movement of the hands?

i really don't do as much of these directional movements as i should.. good on you to pick up on it

you can use hair bands to work opening and closing a combination of several fingers or just two...

on inward lateral movement... i use plastic beverage bottles with various sized caps and try to hold them between two fingers laterally.. the advantage with the bottles is you can vary the amount of water for the individual pairs of fingers

thick Rubber bands for opening, folding bottle caps between fingers for closing aspect. There's a couple more options for you.

I do not usually do it. But I experimented for fun to wrap IM Extend Your Hand Bands around 2 fingers a time.

Happens. I just use a couple of the extra wide Broccoli bands these days. I like Broccoli anyway so it is a bonus prize.

A couple of mine have broken. I thought I read somewhere that IM would replace them, but I never checked into it.

Hold a sledgehammer out in front of you, and hold it between the palm side of the ends of your fingers. Walk it up/down from top to bottom. Much more difficult than I thought it would be and a 6lb hammer is about all I can use. Truth be told, a regular hammer is probably enough.
