I wouldn't worry about it. They will just get bought out, and BIMBO or some other bakery company will still mfg the things by the boat load.

My first order of business tomorrow is to go out and buy all the ding dongs and twinkies I can and load up my freezer. Yes, I'm a junk food junkie. I grew up with those things and they make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Comfort food, ya know. I don't really care how bad they are for me. Larry Groce would be dissapointed.

I did my part to try and Save The Twinkies. I wasn't going to sit and watch them go way. Still one of my favorite shirts to wear.

(The vid was for a friend.)

I'm going to buy a ton, freeze them, and then sell them on ebay at a later date.

My understanding is that if you get a package that is single stamped instead of double stamped, it will be worth more later.

Hub that was pretty hilarious.

I think it's funny how this went down.

Union: We want more money.

Hostess: If you strike, we'll die.

Union: LOL.

Hostess: Seriously. We can't live through this.

Union: "We bake Twinkies for your store; no more baking till you pay more!"

Hostess: We're dead. :/

Union: I don't feel dumb for standing up for myself.

I read where someone was EBaying them - 10 of them for $100 - what the heck?

I find it less funny. Just found out my dad lost his job among 18,000 other people nation wide. He wasn't part of the strike, just a salesman.

That's my point. The bakers union should feel dumb for putting 18000 people out of work. Of course they don't see it that way. Sounds like the Teamsters are pretty pissed at them. The drivers were able to settle given the dire circumstances.

Well kind of, not really. The strike was simply the last straw that broke the crippled company's back. Hostess has been going under for many reasons. Was the strike a dumb idea, yes. Are they too blame, no. They were going to go under any second anyways. There was no way the company was going to magicaly recover if the strike never happened.

Good points. They were also covering how Hostess had not been very creative nor ambitious with inventing products that would be better received (read: healthier) in today's marketplace.
